Morin Choinière is a young company based in Montréal, Canada. Richard Morin and Claude Choinière are the two owners of the company. They both studied fine arts at school. Our goal is to create simple and elegant objects. Our ability is to reinvent everyday objects into refined and avant-garde glassware. Most of our line is inspired by art deco style, which is, in our opinion, a very elegant style.
We have been the recipients of prestigious awards and honourable mentions at craft shows and wholesale shows in Canada.
Every product is made exclusively of glass. The technique is called cut glass. A template is used to cut the glass in a specific shape and the pieces are glued together in order to create a picture frame, a vase, a candle holder, etc…In some cases, the glass remain clear and in other it is frosted. This effect is obtained by sandblasting. No sophisticated mechanical process is involved at Morin Choinière. Every piece is carefully made by hand!
