Stained clay bowl Casserole - cobalt Mugs - cobalt Stained clay platter

Emily Pearlman produces all of her ceramics out of her studio in New York. Her pieces are thrown on the wheel, hand built, slip-cast or a combination of all three. In recent years she has also begun exploring other techniques and the potential she finds inherent in clay that is pushed, pulled, thrown, coiled, rolled and stretched.

Once a piece is formed, but while the clay is still damp, Emily adds decoration, texture and finishing touches. Glazes are hand mixed from dry chemicals and are lead-free. The final step is firing. Each piece is fired at over 2280°, a temperature that makes the surface highly chip resistant and perfect for dinnerware.
