Jonathan Simons lives and works in rural Kempton, PA. He graduated in art and design from the University of Illinois, but wanted to use his hands to earn his livelihood. Wood called to him.
While apprenticing to a furniture maker, he made his first spoon the day he forgot to pack one with his lunch and turned one on the spot.
Jonathan works only in cherry wood, which he prefers for color, grain, smoothness and durability.
