Treestump is Ron and Christine Sisco, who have been working in wood for over 12 years. Their work is distinguished by the use of turquoise stone, selected from the Sleeping Beauty mine in Globe, Arizona. They use a chip inlay process where small pieces of turquoise are placed in the natural voids of the mesquite wood. Once placed and finished, the chips are actually harder than they were before mining. Christine designs the forms, then Ron and Ron Jr. turn all the wood themselves, by hand.
These kitchen utensils are to be washed by hand (never the dishwasher) and dried. Occasionally, to enhance the luster, mineral oils can be applied. The turquoise in cutting boards will not be damaged by normal use of knives when chopping.
