Kim loves and lives design. She expresses herself through her medium of choice; porcelain.
On a whim, Kim started adding slipped dots to her vases, and later to cups and bowls, to make handling tableware a little more thrilling. Kim believes people should use things they love every day.
Kim throws, trims and cuts porcelain vessels, allowing each to evolve naturally. Often, her work mimics what she sees in nature. She finds beauty in details such as the curves of the human body or the delicate layers in a blossom.
Kim opened her own studio in a small bakery space in 2004. Since then, she’s been immersed in continuous experimentation and exploration of clay.
