Whitney’s design sense is primarily informed by her obsession with flowers and other forms found in nature. She has painted and drawn since she was a small child.
Whitney was educated at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz in 1994, later moving to the Bay Area.
Whitney throws all of her pieces on a potter’s wheel first, then carves and applies texture into their final shape.
Whitney worked in San Francisco as a floral designer before taking the final leap into full time potter in early 2000.
